Checking out the CN&R ... only one very little mention was made of the Maidu Ceremony, what the Festival is all about, and the rest of it was about vendors wanting to sell food and other stuff downtown Oroville; a VERY poor example of journalism! (Nothing new for the CN&R). Hope all who go visit the Nature Center, the Ceremony (which celebrates the return of the salmon), and the salmon fillet lunch put on by the Maidu (the best tasting salmon; bar none!). So, if you go to the festival, I recommend spending most of your time close to the Nature Center and the Ceremony. Also, take a few bucks with you and try the Indian Tacos and frybread with butter and honey ... my mouth is watering thinking about it ... too bad I'm diabetic!
